Our team is experienced in all aspects of veterinary emergency medicine and is prepared to step in and assist with whatever medical, diagnostic or surgical care is necessary to get the situation under control. Rest assured that we will act swiftly and with great precision and care to improve the chances of a positive outcome for your pet. Critical care is available in our hospital at any time during our normal office hours, with 24/7 on-call emergency care for our clients available around the clock.
Some of the signs that your pet may require emergency care include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Excessive bleeding
- Broken bones
- Lacerations or puncture wounds
- Persistent vomiting
- Diarrhea that contains blood or lasts more than 24 hours
- Swollen abdomen
- Trauma, such as being hit by a car
- Difficulty urinating
- Extreme lethargy
If your pet experiences any of these things, contact us immediately. We always recommend calling ahead. This allows us to assess the situation, provide advice or instructions on first aid that you can administer in the interim, and prepare the hospital and staff for your pet’s arrival. Of course, if the situation is too urgent to allow for a phone call, please do not hesitate to bring your pet directly to our clinic during regular office hours for immediate attention. (If your pet’s emergency occurs after hours, a call to the clinic is required.)
While we certainly hope you’ll never experience the need for urgent veterinary care, it’s good to know that you can always count on us in your time of need. Help is always just a phone call away!
