Resolutions For Kittens

January 17, 2022
Happy New Year! Are you starting out 2022 with a new kitten? If so, you’ll want to wish your feline buddy a Happy Mew Year tomorrow: the 2nd is the official kitty new year. Of course, your tiny ball of fur has quite a few milestones to reach over the next 12 months. A local Tipp City, OH veterinarian goes over some of the things on little Fluffy’s 2022 to-do list below.

Your feline friend’s super cute toddler phase won’t last long. By the end of the year, little Fluffy will be, well, not so little. That growth spurt takes a toll on your adorable pet’s body, so it’s important to make sure that she’s getting proper nutrition. Ask your vet for specific advice on this, including tips on when to switch your kitty over to an adult-formula food.

Master The Pounce

Cats are almost impossibly cute, so it can be easy to forget that they are actually formidable hunters. Even if Fluffy never hunts anything other than catnip mice and the occasional dust bunny, she’ll still be driven to work on her murder skills. Offer your tiny serial killer lots of fun toys to practice on.

Charm My Vet

Your pint-sized pal is going to need to visit us a few times over the next 12 months. In addition to her initial exams, little Fluffy will need microchipping and spay/neuter surgery. Vaccines and parasite control are also on the agenda.

World Domination

Okay, to be fair, this may seem like a pretty lofty goal for a little furball. However, don’t forget that Fluffy did manage to convince the ancient Egyptians to treat her as a divine being. You may want to keep a close eye on your feline overlord around June 24th, which is Cat World Domination Day.

If any of our animal companions are masters of the art of zen, it’s definitely Fluffy. Cats are very good at relaxing, reposing, resting, lounging, contemplating, and other non-sports. Your furry friend can actually be a great inspiration to you. Take a cue from your furry friend, and remember to enjoy some down time this year. Please reach out with any questions or concerns about your kitten’s health or care. As your Tipp City, OH animal clinic, we look forward to helping you keep your cute pet happy, healthy, and purring in 2022 and beyond.
