Critical Care – Emergency

Slide – BG

As a loving pet parent, you never want to see your best friend in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents can happen at any time. How you handle these situations can make all the difference in the world. At Troy Animal Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team in your corner.

Our hospital and staff are equipped to deliver life-saving critical care. We’ll handle your loved one’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything within our power to achieve a positive outcome.

Some of the signs that your pet may require emergency care include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a foreign object or toxic substance
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice any of these signs, seek help right away. Please call us ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to assess the situation, provide first aid instructions over the phone and prepare the hospital for your pet’s arrival.

If an emergency occurs outside of our business hours, please contact Dayton Medvet at 937-293-2714 or Care Center in Centerville at 937-428-0911.

At Troy Animal Hospital, we sincerely hope you never experience the need for urgent veterinary care. If you do, however, we want you to know we’ll be there for you in your time of need.
