Surgery

Slide – BG

Are you feeling concerned about your pet’s upcoming surgery?

Bringing a family member in for an operation is never easy. At Troy Animal Hospital, we know exactly what you’re going through because we’re pet owners too. Rest assured, we’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that your companion’s procedure is as stress-free as possible.

Pre-Surgical Care

Our surgical care begins with comprehensive preoperative screening, which helps reduce the risk of complications for your pet. We’ll also develop a safe, effective plan to keep your companion comfortable and pain-free – before, during and following surgery.

Surgery

Whether routine or complex, your loved one’s procedure will be our highest priority. From the moment you arrive, we’ll be there to ease your mind and help keep your pet calm and relaxed.

Once safely sedated, our team will complete the surgery as efficiently as possible. As the doctor works, our dedicated support staff will remain present at all times to assist with surgery and closely monitor your pet’s wellbeing.

After Care

After surgery, we’ll carefully relocate your pet to our recovery area, where our staff will offer comfort and reassurance.

When you arrive for pickup, we will go over our aftercare instructions, including a plan for pain management.

Surgery doesn’t have to be a source of anxiety, especially if you’ve got the compassionate, experienced team at Troy Animal Hospital in your corner. Contact us today and let’s discuss how we can help with all of your pet’s surgical care needs.

24/7 EMERGENCY CARE

As a loving pet parent, you never want to see your best friend in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents can happen at any time. How you handle these situations can make all the difference in the world. At Troy Animal Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team in your corner.

Our hospital and staff are equipped to deliver life-saving critical care at a moment’s notice, any time – day or night. We’ll handle your loved one’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything within our power to achieve a positive outcome. Our urgent medical services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Some of the signs that your pet may require emergency care include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a foreign object or toxic substance
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice any of these signs, seek help right away. Whenever possible, we recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to assess the situation, provide first aid instructions over the phone and prepare the hospital for your pet’s arrival. Of course, should a phone call in advance not be feasible, don’t hesitate to come directly in.

At Troy Animal Hospital, we sincerely hope you never experience the need for urgent veterinary care. If you do, however, we want you to know we’ll be there for you in your time of need.
